Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2016
We are specifying below the minimum eligibility criteria for NEET UG 2016 Exam; have a look in case you are going to appear in NEET UG Exam 2016:
In order to appear in NEET UG Exam 2016 applicants must be either citizen of India or Overseas citizen of India.
- Applicants excluding SC/ST/other backward classes are required to secure at least 50% marks in qualifying exam along with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology. For SC/ST/Other backward classes applicants the minimum secured marks is 40%.
How to Apply?
In order to apply for NEET UG candidates need to visit its respective website i.e.www.cbseneet.nic.in. Please have a look on important instructions before you apply for this test:
- Please keep necessary documents for payment ready. Candidates can either go with online mode of payment or offline mode of payment. In case you are going with online payment then you must have debit card/credit card.
- Candidates can also make necessary payment in offline mode through challan at bank or e-post office.
- Application form once submitted cannot be withdrawn.

NEET UG 2016 Application Fees
The NEET UG 2016 application fee is specified for General and OBC category candidate is 1000/- and for SC/ST/PH category candidates it is Rs. 500/-.
Procedure to Submit Application Form
- Visit the official website of the respective authority.
- Find the link to ‘apply online’ and click the same.
- Read the important instructions and complete first part of your application which is online registration.
- After successfully completion of the online registration, please note down the registration number.
- Once you fill and submit the online application form, you’ll be automatically redirected to fee payment page.
- Choose the mode of payment and make necessary payment.
- Candidates who haven’t received their online generated confirmation page their applications will be treated as cancelled.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Pleas follow the prescribed exam pattern for NEET UG 2016:
- There will be one paper consist of 180 objective type questions.
- Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- Candidates can choose either English or Hindi as language of the question paper.
- Exam duration will be of 3 hours.
- Every question will carry 4 marks and one mark gets deducted from the total for each incorrect answer.
- Syllabus: Syllabus for NEET UG will be common as prescribed by the respective authority.

Admission Procedure
The authority will prepare an all India and state wise merit list for all qualified aspirants according to their marks in the exam. Candidates will be further admitted to MBBS/BDS programmes according to their rank in the merit list and reservation policies.
Admit Card

Result and Merit List
The Central Board of Secondary Education is responsible to conduct exam, evaluate answer sheets and declare result of the test. Expected date for declaring NEET UG result 2016 is in the month of June, 2016. Separate merit list/wait list will be prepared and declared by the CBSE according to the direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, DGHS, MCI and DCI.
After declaration of the result an All India merit list gets prepared by the Central Board of Secondary Education according to the eligibility conditions of Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India.
NEET 2016 Counselling
Candidates who have qualified in the test will further need to attend the counselling process. Online counselling is going to be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services in the month of July, 2016. Candidates need to attend the counselling procedure according to their rank in the merit list. Counselling schedule will be updated to you soon after release of its official notification.
